International Youth Day Date
Every year, International youth day is celebrated on 12 August in all over the world. This day provides a platform to highlight the ways, which youth can use to lead the world toward progress.
International Youth Day 2020 Theme
Every year a unique International Youth day Theme is selected. The International Youth Day 2020 Theme is “Youth Engagement for Global Action”. This theme highlights the ways which increase the engagement of youth in national and international progress.
In 2020 the IYD will focus on three aspects:
- Involvement of youth at the local level
- Involvement of youth national level
- Involvement of youth at the global level
Youth Day History
In 1984, the first time more than 30,000 young people were invited by Jhon Paul II in International Jubilee of youth on Palm Sunday. The First official office of the Institute of World Youth Day was established on December 20, 1985. The first World Youth Day was celebrated in 1986.
In 1999 the United Nations decided to celebrate International Youth Day on 12 August. Every Year a Unique International Youth Day theme is decided and this day helps to aware of a sense of responsibility in youth and motivate them to play their role in the progress of the country.
